Which fields make a compliance matrix useful?
The matrix needs enough structure to separate what the tender says from what the bidder proposes. The source field should point to a document and section, not only a filename.

How does compliance differ from conformance?
Do not rely on a generic distinction. Tender documents may define their own response codes and meanings. Copy those definitions into the matrix rules and use them consistently.

What does a reviewer check?
Review open mandatory rows, unsupported compliance statements, qualifications, duplicated requirements and responses that no longer match the latest addendum.

What else should the bid team know?
Is a compliance matrix always supplied by the client?
No. Some tenders provide a template. When none is provided, the bid team can create an internal matrix from the issued requirements.
Can one row contain several requirements?
It is safer to split requirements when they could have different owners, responses or evidence.
Does compliant mean risk-free?
No. It records a response position. Technical, commercial and legal reviewers still assess the underlying obligation.
